I was wondering, what are your favorite food/drink fads, either past or present?

I remember the strawberry kiwi flavor fad that seemed to have started around 1996 and that died down around 2000. That flavor combo was everywhere at the time, even with products such as Gatorade.

Also, the pink drinks/rosť fad seems to be a decent fad right now. I have been drinking a lot of Welch's Sparkling Rosť Grape Juice as well as a lot of Ocean Spray Pink Cranberry Juice.

Ugh... pink cakes turn me off.
I like cakes in natural colors. Pink filling like strawberry it's ok, but there must be something tart too to reduce the sweetness.

I love making Betty Crocker Super Moist Strawberry Cake with cream cheese frosting for Valentine's Day. If you make a strawberry cake mix I would pair it with some cream cheese frosting (you have seen this in my past threads).

As for pink drinks, I don't drink alcohol, but I love the taste of the Welch's Sparkling Rosť Grape Juice. I always drink it when I am having some chicken parmesan at home.

Isn't that nauseating - life in pink?
You should try some variety or you will miss a lot in your life.
What about a Black Forest, or a Sachertorte (chocolate and apricot jam), or Victoria sponge ( yes, made with strawberries and double whip cream, but isn't pink), or tarts, or an ol' good cheese cake, or Tiramisu...
There are so many delicious cakes that don't look pink...

BTW: I don't bake cakes from a box. That's not baking.
And I am not interested in fads.
