You must have either a gas stove or a generator! I don’t. If the power goes off, there will be no cooking done at my house. But I admire your thinking.
Silibran, we have a gas stove and a heavy duty camp stove as well, so if the electricity goes we're covered. But if you lose your "juice", you are more than welcome to come by for a good meal!

Why thank you! I am sure your meal would be delicious.
Versatile Workhorse: When I got a job promotion at age 35, I treated myself to a Kitchen Aid mixer and attachments. I’m 66 now and both of us are still going strong. It has easily earned its counter space.
Modern Versatility: InstaPot, I make yogurt weekly with it, use it to pressure cook one pot meals and steel cut oats. No watching for the pressure valve to rock, it’s worth it for that alone.
Luddite Versatility: A five quart cast iron Dutch oven with a lid that doubles as a 10” skillet, what a useful combo!
Begrudgingly versatile gift: a Cuisinart Electric Griddler. It has reversible smooth and grill plates to make pressed grilled sandwiches or paninis. It opens up flat to become a full or half electric griddle or grill. This week I’ve made pancakes on it, crumpets and panini grilled sourdough bread/fresh mozzarella/ roasted red pepper sandwiches. Too bad it wasn’t my idea.
We got rid of all 3 crock pots when we got our insta pot or actually ours is not insta pot brand, but the same thing. I keep it on the counter top and by giving the crock pots to charity I added storage space.
