You are so right. New York City food is the best in the US. No matter what it is, you can always find the best version or variety of it somewhere.
That is far from reality - while NYC has a lot of decent places - they do not have a monopoly on best places to eat. Not everyone thinks the NYC version of food is the best.
I moved from Colorado to Oklahoma and oddly enough there's a number of things to be found here (Braum's, Swadley's, etc) that can't be found back in the Denver area but not much there that you couldn't find around Oklahoma with a little bit of searching. I have noticed though that at least in OKC there are not many dine in Chinese places (either buffet style or purely take out) whereas proper dine in Chinese restaurants were all over the place in Colorado. Any other differences come down largely to brand availability and there's not much I specifically miss in that regard.
I agree! I think they have the best food in the U.S.
Hmmm... there have been studies on placebo pills. The more expensive the placebo, the better it works. (I'm not making this up.) Could it be that paying more for food in "the" city has a similar effect?
