I have had great success both losing weight and maintaining it, by following Weight Watchers. One good, healthy snack, I discovered, are baby carrots. They keep well, for what seems like forever, and can be eaten plain (nice and sweet and crunchy) or dressed-up with a tad of dressing -- ranch, for example.
When I would get in from work, and was absolutely starving, I could eat a low-fat Oscar Mayer hot dog (I know! I know! hot dog?!) with some mustard on a whole wheat bun, and be none-the worse for it.
Fresh fruit is a nice plus, too. Slice an apple -- go for some of the exotic ones -- or keep fresh berries on-hand. Even a slice or two of fresh pineapple is surprisingly filling, and good for you, too.
I also second seeing your regular DR just to make sure you're not having problems with your blood sugar, or thyroid, or something.
I agree - you need lost more protein, especially for breakfast. Maybe add snacks of turkey, hard boiled egg, low fat cheese. You eat like you're on a diet.
thanks again everyone, i guess i didnt realize i wasnt eating enough protein. i figured i was having meat at lunch and dinner, and that was enough. ill start having hardboiled eggs and turkey for snacks. i also like the baby carrots idea, and substituting brown rice and wholewheat pasta for my normal starches.
thanks!!
