Bought some pecans and they are softer than they should be for supposedly fresh ones.
Online suggests roasting them to bring them back to how they should be.
Have you tried it? Or even done so for the purpose of seasoning/flavoring them somehow?

Roasted pecans are very good! I've done a mildly spicy version, though I don't have the recipe.

I've done it for a recipe a couple of times. Just thrown them in the oven dry or maybe a little bit of olive oil. It does improves the recipes, IMO.

I tried it and it works to refresh those not-inexpensive pecans!

toss them in a little egg white with sugar and cinnamon and be careful not to burn
