If it's for a gift, I would just give them cash. Then they can use it as needed, either towards a nice meal or other expenses.

If you’d rather not do cash, get them a Visa Gift Card. Then they can decide if they want an evening out or something for their home.

Do you have a Cracker Barrel near you? My wife and I can eat there for around $25. I usually get the meat loaf with 3 sides and a drink and hers is the chicken and dumplings with 2 sides. She usually drinks water. Check out locally owned restaurants. We used to eat out quite often before my wife's gastric surgery, and Covid, but we're sneaking out every now and then. We hardly ever pay more than $25 unless we splurged and went to a steak house somewhere.

I was shocked when I called Golden Corral and was told their buffet is now $14.99 per adult. That verifies that we have not been there in many years.
