Default Is it good to drink lots of milk?

Is it good to drink lots of milk? I personally love drinking milk and I often drink milk with my meals and I always have a glass of warm milk before I go to bed, I usually drink either 1% or 2% milk.

I also have a glass of milk whenever I make myself chocolate cake or chocolate chip cookies.

It's only good to drink lots of milk if you're not lactose intolerant - like me.

On the flip side, too much calcium is actually a VERY bad thing. First off, it actually slows the rate at which bones heal and repair. Too much can harm the kidneys. Not to mention your body will try to "hide" that extra calcium and you can get a calcification of your joints and blood vessels. The first is apparently very painful... and the second could possibly kill you by blocking blood flow.

Now, I'm no Medical Expert, but I will say to watch your calcium intake. Make sure to talk to your doctor before taking any sort of vitamin supplement.

Though, I can't drink milk - soy or regular. I was lactose intolerant for a very long time, but my father relentlessy made me drink 3 glasses a day because he thought I was faking. My body "learned" the concept that anything that tastes of milk will make me sick.. even the scent of milk makes my stomache churn. I get my calcium from chews and the occasional Ice Cream.

For those who are lactose intolerant, depending upon the degree - you might be able to add chocolate/strawberry syrup and be alright. For those not severely intolerant, the sugars from the syrup allow the body to better process the lactose. This is also why some lactose intolerants cannot drink regular milk, but are fine with certain yogurts and ice creams.

But that's also the reason my father thought I was faking the lactose intolerant. I ate ice cream without problem.

I like milk, but i try not to drink too much of it. It's over-processed in my opinion. Those good old days of drinking milk fresh, that is actually good for you, are gone!
I enjoy milk with cookies and stuff. I would not drink milk with dinner if my dinner involves meat. Milk and meat is a No-No!

My husband drinks LOTS of milk. He especially loves large glasses of milk when he eats pasta (does anyone else do this). Personally, I only use it in my coffee or with cookies or PB&J's.

Default Milk at Cookie Time?

The answer is a resounding yes! There's nothing that goes better with chocolate chip cookies.

I used to drink about a gallon of skim every week. Sometimes more.

Recently, I've gone down to about 1/4 gallon a week or less.

No noticable changes.
