Never had a TH. DD used to be good, now they ship the donuts in from central warehouse. Might as well get em at the supermarket. Coffee is overpriced; in New England, Cumberland Farms (convenience store chain) has any size coffee, hot or cold, fixed the way you like, for $1. AND they have pastries too.

I prefer Tim Horton's for coffee and quick snacks. Never been much of a fan of Dunkin' and I live in an area Tim Horton's aren't around, but been to enough of them while my extensive travels.

Where we live we have neither. What was shocking to me was when we went on a road trip to Maine and back this summer, how Dunkin Donuts is everywhere in East. It was like Starbucks on every corner. We ate there once, it was meh. We have eaten there before and had the same experience. I prefer Krispie Kreme. I've never had Tom Hortons.

My daughter likes dunkin donuts but I am in favor of Tim Horton because of their coffee and the essence of the coffee beans when you enter in their premises.

On my way into town to visit my mom in in NW PA, I stopped at Krispy Kreme for coffee and a custard donut. OMG. So delicious.

On my way out of town, I stopped at Tim's for a coffee and a box of Timbits. Heaven!

Tim's does cake donuts better than KK. KK does raised donuts better than Tim's. The local donut shop in my mom's neighborhood does both even better, but they were closed for the holidays. Bummer.

Never heard of Tim Horton before this thread. Looks like they are Canadian based and owned by Wendy's an only in 12 states. So, I cant saying anything about them.

Dunkin though is awful. Terrible. They are no where near as good as Starbucks, Coffee Bean or Peete's. Also, their doughnuts pale in comparison to the taste of Krispy Kreme. KK are the BEST tasting chain doughnuts ever.

I dont think we have a Tim Hortons around here, but we do have Dunkin. Over the years, Dunkin's choices of donuts and quality has gone down hill. the donuts are kinda tasteless, and they dont have a lot of choices. i wanted my favorite donut and they were out and it was early. so Dunkin is kinda cheap.

We have another donut franchise thruout Chicagoland - Stans Donuts - and THAT is an example of a great donut shop.

Wendy's purchased Tim Horton's in an effort to introduce a decent breakfast menu to its operations. The problem was that the franchisees really did not want to open for breakfast as many considered it to be a money loser. The exception was in states close to the Canadian border where Tim Horton has tremendous brand equity.

Personally, I thought that they would integrate a TH into Wendy's location. However, the closest they got to that was co-branded stores.

Tim Hortons was spun off from Wendys after about five years and is currently owned by Restaurant Brands International that also owns Burger King.

I like TH in Canada. In the US, I will only stop there for coffee and only when I have the patience for their glacial service.

TH definitely better than Dunkin.

But, where i now live we have no TH, and a few Dunkins around town,

I am one of the few who can't stand Dunkin coffee, and really enjoy their disgusting donuts. Go figure. (I do always check for rat/mouse feces and human hairs...just in case).

We don’t have either in Lafayette Louisiana. We have a collection of locally owned donut shops and a local brand coffee chain that competes with Starbucks.
