I like scrambled eggs with ketchup. Lots of people eat them with salsa - they're both tomato products so what's the big deal? My husband thinks eggs with ketchup is gross, but eats cottage cheese with ketchup on it, which *I* think is totally gross!! Good thing we're all different, huh?

I can't imagine eating steak with ketchup, but I don't really enjoy a steak unless I have fresh sliced tomatoes with salt and pepper on the side.
Yum!! I enjoy carmelizes onions & some mushrooms with steak, but I could never put ketchup on it

Default Beef Is What's For Dinner

Many times, when I cook a steak at home, I use steak sauce. But when I eat out, I always eat my steak without any sauce at all. I just don't have a charcoal or wood-fired grill yet, but the best steaks I've ever had were always whenever I eat out.

ahh practice young grasshopper!! Thats funny because I have almost given up ordering steaks at "steak" house because the ones I cook at home are usually better.
I usually order something else nowadays, something that I dont cook on my own.
Whenever a waitress asks me if I need steak sauce, I say "I sure hope not" They almost never get it.

And you dont need a wood grill or charcoal, Some of my best steaks came out of the oven broiler (gas is alot better and easier)

Definetly steak sauce. Maybe some sauteed mushrooms on top. Yummy!

Never understood covering up the steak with sauce.
I agree that if you need sauce the cook did a bad job.

A perfect steak for me wouldn't need anything except maybe a dash of salt and/or pepper.

Well, my father is rolling in his grave, but I voted for steak sauce. Unless it's a rare hamburger, I don't particularly love beef. I'd like to be able to live on fruit and ice cream exclusively. Steaks can be yummy, but I could go the rest of my life without one and not care.

I had no idea that there could be dirty, little secrets to making ketchup. Dare I ask?

My best friend's mother, a Russian lady, makes the best ketchup I've ever tasted in my life. I swear I should get the recipe and start bottling it. I might consider trying her ketchup on steak, but I'm not even sure about that. Need to get myself back to Russia, so I can try the experiment.

Nothing on a good steak, please. Freshly ground pepper and a dash of garlic powder maybe. Have tried eggs with ketchup or mayo in the past as a child. Hot dogs have to have ketchup and relish. Onions are great also! Live in the Midwest, but think of ourselves as more southern than northern. when it comes to cooking!

I like to try different things on my steak/ meats, and right now I am "stuck" on A1 Steak Sauce Roasted Garlic Flavor.
Very flavorful and "robust" tasting. Yum!
