Has anyone ever ordered steamed crabs online? I'm from Maryland and now living in Arizona and I'm thinking about getting some crabs and having a cookout.

I've found a couple of websites that have them, but I wanted to see if anyone has some first-hand experience. The websites have testimonials, but I never really trust that those are real.

I've never looked into crabs, but I have checked out mussels, clams, king crab legs, lobster, and crawdads. Only thing I've ordered were the crawdad tail meat in the fat, and they were good. I've found that s&h is a real killer. Last thing I checked into were the mussels, they were $6/# but w/s&h it went up to $21/# or so.

Check your local groc store to see if they can get some in, thats what I'm gonna do when I order some mussels.

Sorry I couldn't help out more.

Personally, I would be looking for a wholesale fish monger and buy the crabs from them rather than risk a direct shipment. They'll generally have a good source and are trained in the handling of their shipments.

Wouldn't you want to order the blue crabs LIVE?

I ordered a dozen live blue crab from Maryland this spring for us to try. Only one dead, but they had sent 14. Worked out good for us.

Seafood from the Gulf is always cheaper then the East Coast. Maryland Blue Crabs have been expensive since I was a kid, but boy are they worth it.

They are one of the only things I'll pay an arm and a leg for and not complain.

I would love to find someone in Alaska that could/would ship fresh King crab legs and Snow crab legs (in season) at a decent price.
