Honey, by the way, does not need to be digested - it goes right into your system.
Please clarify what you mean by this. As far as I know, ALL food products need to be digested - that is, broken down into the component parts that actually work with our bodies.
If you mean that honey is broken down more quickly than refined white sugar and gets to the bloodstream faster, perhaps, because the bees have started the process. However, honey does NOT go directly into the bloodstream; it DOES need to be digested first. If it didn't, our blood would be full of honey.
I've noticed that if I have sugar or simple carbs in the morning I can't stay awake. This was my clue to never eat donuts, or sugery cereal, pancakes, or even toast for breakfast. I find I'm really sensitive to sugar now, and don't eat sugar at all except on rare occasions.
I still like a slab of birthday cake once in a while, but that's about it.
Protien is wake up food! Sugars and lot of carbs will spike your glycaemic index and then you will crash!
I have taken to eating protien for breakfast and lunch but carbs for dinner so I can get a good night's rest. I have given up caffine because of a health issue and I have lots more energy. I have also reduced white flour as well as white sugar along with processed foods...
