We always throw some catsup/ketchup in our stew at the end of the process. Gives it a nice flavor. I didn't know that people didn't know enough to sop up gravy w/their bread! That's the bestest part!

Default Sopping and such

In my neck of the woods sopping up the gravy and other juices with rolls, biscuits, or light bread was quite common. Maybe it was because so many Irish and Scots folks settled in the area. Remember, the main reason to cook meat is to have an excuse to make gravy!

I have a few other likes that might seem alien. I like to take a freshly baked biscuit, maybe a cathead, and butter it, then layer some freshly cut corn or cream-style corn between the two halves...close and eat. I am also prone to put tomato ketchup in some cream of chicken soup to make it a bit pink. Although it IS common in some parts of the USA (but not generally in the South), I want my hot apple pie topped with a big piece of sharp Cheddar cheese...but never, NEVER ice cream. I like to take a pan of freshly baked cinnamon or peach rolls, pour some cream over the top, and heat the pan over the eye of the stove until it gets soaked in and just shy of boiling...the rolls come out so rich and gooey. I like my celery stuffed with peanut butter and then topped with Parmesan cheese shreds.

I totally forgot about peanut butter smeared into the celery. But we never had cheese on it.

That is really enterprising!
