I too have enjoyed Columbia Crest.

Other inexpensive favorites:

Red Bicyclette rosé (so nice on a hot summer night)

Pennautier's L'Orangerie (red, Languedoc-Roussillon)

Fat B*stard Chardonnay (French)

Tall Horse Chardonnay and Merlot (South Africa)

Burdell, I like Concha Y Toro, too, though their prices have been creeping up.
Another wine, Red Guitar Tempranillo, is absolutely delicious, but $12 a bottle these days.

Lesleymo is on a distinguished road
Middle Sister "Rebel Red" - I buy it at the local SuperTarget! It's a nice California blend.

The "Trucks" from Cline vineyards. Red Truck, White Truck and (yikes) Pink Truck. Great blends from an outstanding winery known for their Zinfandels (no, not the pink swill, real red zinfandels.)

I second the Ravenswood...the Red Zin is good as well as the Cabernet. Bogel is also pretty decent and the Rodeny Strong reds.

I've had a Cab and a Merlot from a CA vineyard known as Oak Creek, locally $3.99 a bottle or $3.34/btl if you buy a case. For the $$$ I think it's pretty decent, would recommend if you're putting on a BBQ or pasta feed for thirsty friends

My favorite wine comes in a screw-top bottle. I freely admit it!

It's Arbor Mist, Sangria Zinfandel.

YUM!

Screw top is not only okay, I think we all need to accept it.
And I have had the FishEye chard and thought it was just fine.
