Default How do you make your Sugar Rice?

From the salty melon thread....

So how do you make your sugar rice?

I came up with something a little different to use left overs from chinese.
There is always a ton of white rice left over. So I put it in the pot for breakfast with either duck sauce (peach) or pinapple sauce (sweet and sour- orange ) and a pat of butter with some fresh pinapple chunks. Stir and heat.

Its kinda like a fruity cream of wheat, But with rice.

Since its twice cooked it doesnt have the body of old fashion sugar rice.
But I love it.

Sounds great with the duck sauce or pineapple sauce, Pitt.

I always have rice in the frig. I eat it everyday and like to add a little sprinkle of sugar to it if I am eating it plain.

When you talk about sugar rice, do you mean rice pudding? That is an entirely new ballgame. It is delicious anytime of day and so easy to make with leftover rice of any kind.

I've always known it as "rice pudding" and when we have left over white rice, I add cinnamon and sugar and call it "rice pudding"....sometimes I will serve it warm for breakfast with a bit of cream on it
