The smell of curry makes me nauseous, but once the meal is prepared I may or may not enjoy it.

At the moment hot sauce comes to mind. When I was a little kid, I remember my dad just loading up on it and I would hate it so bad.

Maple...I can't stand the odor of maple syrup, sugar, candy, etc. Actually I don't really like the flavor of maple either because it tends to overpower everything else. Real maple syrup on pancakes makes me gag.

Turmeric is another one that makes me ill when I smell it although I don't object to the flavor in small amounts.. Funny thing is I like the odor of most of the other earthy/dirty spices and herbs, i.e., those that smell musty, like dirty feet, with the bouquet of a Sasquatch armpit, etc., including cumin.

Rhubarb while it's being cooked. The smell actually makes me feel physically sick.
