Wanted to share a yummy new dessert I may have invented, kind of:

Ricotta Strawberry Sundae

I bought some ricotta cheese, put a small scoop in a dessert dish (abut 1/2 cup), drizzled a bit of honey on the scoop and sprinkled on some cinnamon.

Then I topped it with some thinly sliced fresh strawberries (in season now in my part of the world) or use any other fresh fruit of choice such as blueberries, raspberries, banana, mango, etc. You could put a few chopped walnuts on top if you want, but that's gilding the lily.

It's quite wonderful--rich and filling. Use the reduced fat variety for less calories if you like.

Let me know if you like it, too!

Lately, I've been making a snack by putting a dollop of cottage cheese in a bowl, and pouring on a few tablespoons of a canned fruit nectar, like mango. That's pretty satisfying, too.

Before I looked at your thread, I thought you were going to ask for a suggestion of a rich yet light dessert... guess what came to my mind immediately? Surprise, surprise, ricotta!

Great dessert, and remember there are a ton of ricotta-based desserts that taste very rich yet are easy on the calories.

I love love love ricotta but I can't stand cottage cheese.

Ooh goody, another ricotta-head, let's form a club, it's delicious, isn't it, so glad I re-discovered its uses beyond lasagne.

Never knew why I loved cannoli's so much--it was the ricotta!

It sounds really yummy and I need to try it. Fresh fruit gets more available now, and it could be a really great dessert.
If you want, you can substitute ricotta with fresh farmer's cheese...

A favorite breakfast of mine is ricotta on multigrain toast, drizzled with honey, and a handful of green grapes!
