I love watching Anthony Bourdin but I don't want to share a meal with him.
I second that - did you see when he went to that restaurant in England where all they served was offal? I'm not a vegetarian or a vegan by any measure - but if that's what's for dinner, then give me a big steaming plate of veggie lasagna!
Bourdain was making heavenly bliss faces as he was chomping on parts of a pig that shall remain nameless...uh oh, I just had lunch...

Yes -- chefs be diffr'nt from you and me ..... I think it has something to do with "trying everything", or wanting to know what everything that exists tastes like.
I watch a lot of Bourdain's shows and enjoy the tours immensely, but I agree I wouldn't want to have to converse with him for more than a minute. He needs to find his center, that place of peace and flowing contentment within him, so he can drop his defensive disdain. Maybe his marriage will uncover that within him.
The Galloping Gourmet was sooo 70's cheesy - there would be these long, lingering close ups of his smarmy face...yuk. He'd literally drag someone from the audience at the end of the show and hand-feed her the food, making all kinds of perverted expressions and licking his lips. Truly gross.
Really? I only vaguely remember - I was too young. Just remember watching it because my Mom had it on. I DO remember him pulling someone out of the audience - and they seemed sooooo thrilled! But I seem to remember him sitting her down at one place and he at the other - and then eating. I don't remember him hand-feeding anyone. Like I said, was really young at the time!

Apparently the show ended in 1971 (after a car accident that left Graham temporarily paralyzed). I was only 5 or 6 at the time so I don't know how I remember anything at all from that time unless it was re-runs...but it seems I do...how odd...
He was totally Mr. Cheeeze tho. But quite entertaining really.
Not odd, apparently you and I are about the same age, so perhaps it was some sort of reruns or something. Thanks for the website, checked it out and am so bummed that it didn't have a "youtube" type thing for his old shows. Oh well!

I checked YouTube and there are some clips - but all from a Japanese-dubbed version! Surreal to see him 'talking' Japanese....

Yep-elitist, condescending and ex con to boot. I can't believe people go to her show to see/hear her talk about her "life." Phony doesn't start to describe her (or her daughter).
She's not really a food personality, but has anyone watched Hazel Smith? She's hilarious sometimes. She was picking on Kellie Pickler because she had never heard of canned milk, or margarine, or a colander. LOL
