In my house we use Basmati Indian rice the most. But we also use Carolina.

But when I'm lazy, minute rice comes in handy.

Another vote here for the Jasmine Rice - for white rice. I also do a brown rice/wild rice medley using the the ones Trader Joe's sells. We eat rice at least three times a week so we buy the big bag of the Jasmine and it lasts the three of us for a few months.

Rice pudding made with the Jasmine and adding cooked fruits, raisins, and chopped nuts - delish! I don't add any sugar at all while cooking the rice in the milk - then add a can of sweetened condensed milk when it's all done (or just half the can depending on how much I'm making).

I started cooking at age 14, and remember my mom using Carolina Long Grain Rice, white, only I do not like their Gold brand. I have been using it all my life, and will not use anyother. The same thing with Thomas English Muffins, I can only live in states that sell these. The reason: To me, they are the best...........

I love the chicken flavored rice from Rice A Roni. I love that stuff.

But I do love me some white rice. My mom used to make it all the time for me, because I loved it. Texas white rice (I grew up in Texas).
