Another great way to jazz up canned refried beans is to add some bacon grease and bring to heat.
It thins them out and they taste 'authentic!'

Some great ideas posted here...particularly the margarita one!
Another side is to make a queso dip. Great to have as the app but also dip your taco into.
I use velveeta, a can of rotel and add some cooked ground beef to the mix.

When I posted this I'd just returned from the meat store where I purchased the already made fresh chicken fajita mix. When I began cooking it I realized it wasn't chicken breast strips like we are used to it was more like chicken chunks/hunks!! lol It smelled good and looked good though so I continued cooking. When it was done I put everything together (tortilla, sour cream, cheese) and made my daughters plate. After she started eating she kept saying... "what kind of meat is this mom"?? LOL I said it's chicken. She's 11 so she DEF knows what chicken is. She took another bite then opened it up and looked at a chunk of meat and asked again if it was really chicken ... then said "are you sure they gave us chicken mom"?? LOL It was soooo funny!!!

I've had many tacos and burritos in TJ, both chicken and pork and several times I could have sworn that the meat was unidentifiable and could have been dog for all I know. It all tasted good though. I just heard on the news today about a deer getting hit by a car near a restaurant and the kitchen workers were seen dragging the road kill into the restaurant door. I guess they were reported and were caught butchering the roadkill in the back of the kitchen !
