I have heard many good things about this wine from Trader Joe's. I don't live close to one, so was wondering what people thought about this wine. Also do you have a preference as to red or white?

I personally think it tastes like cardboard.

I didn't care for the red at all and the white was marginally better.

I think it's very hit-or-miss. Sometimes I'll get a good bottle, other times it's not so great. But I've found that it's great for cooking. I've only bought the merlot and cabernet sauvignon. And don't take my word on the quality of the wine, I'm a complete amateur who prefers beer

I am an amateur also! LOL I figured at around 2-3 bucks a pop, I might could experiment!

I know I prefer a red wine over a dry or white wine. That's ALL I know!

The biggest attraction, obviously, is the price. But they're not bad wines.

Overall I prefer the white wines. I'd rank them in this order:

Red -- Cabernet, shiraz, merlot
White -- Chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, pinot grigio

I haven't tried the white zin yet.

I didn't like the shiraz--very dry but that may be 'good' ?

The white zin is good and the sauvignon blanc.

I bought another brand that was a bit more expensive and it was very good.

At $ 2.00 per bottle, it was terribly overrated, IMO. yuk. .. the stuff I tried anyway.

Given the opportunity I may get some to use for cooking. I really wouldn't know a good wine form bad as I've never had any I thought was good. Many years ago I did mix blackberry with 7up as a tummy aid and it was OK but still not a favorite beverage by any means.

I tried the Trader Joe's organic red zinfindel. No added sulfites and it wasn's half bad. I love red wine in the winter, but I always end up with allergies/sinus issues from it.
