As I was getting in my car at the grocery store today an older lady was getting out of her car next to mine. As I started to shut my door she said "Let me ask you a question. If you were having applie pie, would your rather have vanilla ice cream with it, or shredded cheddar cheese?" I said vanilla ice cream and she said "Yeah, I think most people prefer that..."

I've never heard of eating cheddar cheese with apple pie! Have you heard of that?

Yes I've heard of it.

It must be happening often enough amongst people in the US for me to have heard about it here in Oz.

Never had it though.

It's pie and ice cream for me all the way.

My mom is from Yorkshire in the north of England and up there it is common to eat wensleydale cheese with fruit cake but I've never heard of cheddar with apple pie. Sounds like an odd combo.

Sure; it's great. I like Ice Cream better, but a nice slice of cheddar melted on top is quite good. Surprised more people haven't had it.
