I'm from Philadelphia and I've visited New York ever since I was a little boy. While NYC is definitely a pizza city, Philly isn't that far behind. Some of the pizza in my city is to die for! My favorite local places actually exist outside the city in Delaware County! I love me some Cocco's, Pat's Pizzeria, Just Pizza, and many, many more!

Gwoing up outside Philly, there were so many good mom/pop pizza places, I do not know how any of these chains ever made it up there. Living in Maryland, people seem to buy pizza based on price... go figure..

By the way, Wegmans pizza (fresh made/baked in store) is my favorite down here and rivals Philly Pizza.

Same here. I live in NJ and work in NYC, but some parts of this country just don't have real pizza places and so the chains are their best bet for reliability.

All those chains are bad. And I don't care if you call me pretentious for saying so.

Of the big chain pizza places, my favorite is Papa John's thin crust pizza topped with pepperoni and ground sausage. I usually don't buy it unless they're either having a special on large-sized pizzas or if I have a coupon.
