Here's an invention I created years ago.

Cut halibut into small chunks like 2" x 2".
Wrap with a slice of bacon and skewer with a toothpik or stick.
Place on grill turning about every minute and brush with hickory BBQ sauce.
Only takes a couple minutes and they are done.
Absolutely to die for. Red snapper is a great substitute for the halibut.

MoMark...regarding the corn...I do the same..never did the yogurt baste tho...here's another variation..after you've got the ear wrappped back up, with the small end up pour a swig of beer down inside the ear, you don't need to flood it, just a good heavy splash, then roast as you're saying...sometimes wrap up in foil to keep beer in...steams the ears up nice. Everyone raves about it but no one knows about the beer as the GF usually does inside away from eyes.

Buffalo Wings... I love wings etc..but lets face it..between the butter in some versions of the sauce, deep frying the wings, and the fat built right into the wings they're not exactly a low fat item.

I grill my wings, a little salt and peper but nothing else, flip often and play the big ones so they all end up done at same time...my test is when their just about done spitting or dripping they are done...beyound that they just get dryer. Then I take them off and stir them around in the sauce..

I grill and BBQ all year round, no matter what the weather is. If the wind kicks up i move em into my garage to do it!

I love to smoke brisket, its probably my specialty on the smoker.
I use my Gas Grill the most, and i love Beer Chikcen on it, Beer steaks and hamburgers too.

From posting on the "vegetarian" thread to the "BBQ" thread in one day...that's what I love about city-data.

Veggies like to grill too ya know

I prefer a charcoal grill.

Not exactly bbq, but I like to grill:

corn on the cob--soaked, in the husk, then tossed on the grill.

portabello mushrooms.

veggie burgers (Bocca ect)

veggie skewers: grape tomatoes, mushrooms, bellpeppers, onions etc marinated in olive oil with garlic and herbs.

tempeh--some of you are scratching your heads

and finally my most favorite....PINEAPPLE. Really, if you've never carmalized pineapple on a grill you need to give it a go.

Do I win the prize for weirdest grilling???

Have you ever grilled mushrooms? I did that one time by accident and loved them. Marinate largish white mushrooms in soy, olive oil, garlic, and little bit of sugar for an hour or two. Reserve the marinade for basting. Over a relatively medium to low flame or well burned coals, place the mushrooms stem-side up on the grill or grilling tray. Dribble a bit of marinade into each cap. Cover and periodically check to refill marinade. They're done when they are soft. People will fight over them.

'Shrooms, pineapple, pizza, quesadillas, we've grilled all kinds of stuff, no matter what the weather.
It's funny, I think one of my most favorite meals ever was handmade flour tortillas grilled on a camping trip, we ate them with fresh-caught trout.
Beats any fancy-pants restaurant dinner I've had.

Here on the coast we BBQ just about everything possible during the warm season. Since it's sunny I guess I could BBQ today.

Skewered shrimp is good on the BBQ. You can put peppers in between the shrimp. I BBQ salmon too or just about any kind of fish.

I use a gas BBQ because it's so easy to use.
