BEIJING (Reuters) - China is to publish a blacklist of food additives which make products taste better or appear nutritious but are damaging to health, state media said, as it struggles to restore faith in the "made in China" brand.

China has weathered a series of health scares in recent months, the most recent being tainted milk killing at least six infants and making close to 300,000 sick.

Sorry but it's to little to late in my book. I feel sorry for the people in that country and what is put in their foods. I understand that some of our products still can have ingredients in them from China and we may not even be aware of them but if I know anything has anything from China in it I will not buy it ever!!

It killed .000000453% infants and made .022695432% sick. I am in NO WAY say'n "made in china" is good/bad. Just post'n some info. Please do not take this wrong, all I did was google china's population and it gave me a number as of july 2007. China=1,321,851,888. USA=301,139,947.

I did mess up the infant %, I used the total pop to figure for infants. That number will be edited/deleted asap. The % of sick should be about right. Thanks for call'n me on that.

John's post is good, should help people look at what they are buy'n instead of just grabb'n it off the shelf. Everyones in a "hurry and don't know why....rush'n rush'n till life is no fun"(Alabama)

Billy, I'm rubber and your glue, what you say bounces off of me and sticks to you. I haven't heard that "phrase" for yrs until last night when my son's friend told me that.......I called him "Nancy". Of course I was look'n for you to use it on.
