Could you share the Hungarian almond recipe? My guy is Hungarian- I know he would love them. Paprika in everything!
Sure! We cut this out of the McAllen Monitor about 20 years ago, and it's been a regular holiday treat ever since.

Hungarian Almonds

1 egg white
1 Tbsp. Paprika
2 tsp. garlic salt (we use about a tsp. of garlic powder and a little salt)
1/4 tsp. Cayenne pepper
2 cups whole natural almonds

In a large bowl, beat the egg white until frothy. Mix in spices and blend thoroughly. Add the almonds and toss to coat evenly.

Spread in a single layer on a lightly oiled baking sheet (I recommend lining with foil!). Bake in 300 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until lightly toasted. Loosen from pan and cool.

Store in an airtight container.

Enjoy!

I'm tired. I got 3 hours of sleep last night. can't sleep.
so far today I've made:
oreo truffles (still have to dip them)
cake for cake balls
chow mein cookies
saltine toffee

Still have to make dinner and scooby snacks, dip truffles and cake balls, and make peppermint sauce. I'll do the dipping and sauce on Monday.

They'd better. Notice there's no baking going on except for the cake? LOL Tricked my hubby into saying yes to making the sugar cookies tomorrow for the kids to frost and add to the tins.

Instead of making food for gifts this year, I bought a case of maple syrup from a local producer.
