What food gifts are you making this year?
I'm making for 3 teachers and 4 of dh's coworkers.
I'm making what a woman I used to know called Momos. Kind of like Mexican wedding cookies but w/ a Hershey's kiss in the middle.
Peppermint Stick Sauce recipe (anyone know where I can get small glass jars for this?)
oreo truffles
Pine Bark Recipe : Paula Deen : Food Network
MAYBE some mini cupcakes, but that would involve even more baking.

I've found nice glass jars at craft stores like Michael's or Hobby Lobby.
I'm giving homemade pesto this year. It's in a glass jar along with a package of spaghetti and perhaps a bottle of red wine; I put them in a nice gift bag.
What do you put Peppermint Stick Sauce on? I love Peppermint Stick Ice cream.

I made Limoncello for a few of my friends. Also, I made my annual fruitcakes. They are always in demand...not your typical over-sweet, cheap fruit kind.
Some of my friends will get a tin of home made cookies...4 or 5 kinds. Its a family tradition. I love giving gifts of food to neighbors and friends! Its more personal than a cheap gift.

I have a standing order for my banana nut bread. I think I might need to start soon.
My aunt in Ga did give me about 20lbs of pecans when I saw here....I'm cursing the $$ I saved while I'm shelling the darn things. But man what a difference. So fresh. Yum!

I will do the traditional cookie tins - I am just cutting way down on the people I give to. Every year I try to find a few new cookie recipes to try and then the old standards like snickerdoodles that make ALOT of cookies per recipe.

Gotta clear out the shredded zucchini from the freezer: Zucchini bread!
Also have some jam, salsa, etc., that I've canned. If I'm lucky, the non-canning friends will give me the jar back!

All smoked; "prime" rib, KC strip, beef tenderloin, brisket, and b.beans. Rib & stip are made and portion in vac pac's, brisket made, beans need to be made soon.
Can be expensive, but no one else smokes in our families.......and they like it. Better than givin something they'd never use as we all eat meat.

Capt. Cave Man, I'm pretty sure we're family. Do you need my address?

Thank you. I'll go look and hope they aren't too expensive.
I have no clue. I've never made it before, but the pictures look sooo yummy. I would think it would go well on vanilla ice cream, pound cake, sugar cookies, etc. Maybe nice for dipping fruit?
I LOVE peppermint ice cream. It's my favorite.

I'm making orange rolls. I give the number that is in the family for them to have with breakfast on Christmas morning. I've been doing this since I was in college and my friends and family look forward to it! It's time consuming but definitely worth it when around Thanksgiving they start asking if I'm going to bake again this year!
