Kitchen Myths
This is my favorite go to recipe site for kitchen myths. One I didn't know about before I started using this site years back is that baking soda does NOT absorb the orders.

I disagree about the baked potatoes. I think they're just fine in the microwave.

And I disagree about the beans. Stubborn cuss, I had to test this theory out several times, with the same results Don't put the tomatoes in until the beans are soft

I'm not believing the mayo thing...or maybe the way it's written. Mayo, like other perishables, should not be consumed if it's been at room temp for more than 2 hours (in it's entire opened existence).

It's correct about Mayo. It is a product with enough vinegar in it that it can be stored at room temperature the same as ketchup and mustard. I've been eating room temperature Mayo for years, with no untoward effects. On road trips, I never buy ice, and use car-termperature Mayo for weeks.
