Default Which coffee grinder is easiest to use?

The top on our coffee grinder is tough to remove--guess it's on tightly to keep from flying off! Anybody have a grinder they love?

I have 3 I really like. One is a Norelco Dial-a-Bean, so you can adjust the grind from coarse to superfine, the other two are Bauns. One is the basic 'drop the beans in the top' with the switch doohicky in the lid so it has to be pushed down, and that's great for a quick grind. The lid isn't tight but it is deep, so when the grinding is done, you turn it over and the ground coffe is in the lid. The other is more fancy, it has a top container to drop the beans in, then the ground beans are deposited in a small pull-out plastic container. No muss, no fuss, with any of them. I also have one of those wooden hand crank things with the drawer that pulls out, but after trying it once, it has become a decorative piece of Kitchen Art.

BRAUNS! I meant BRAUNS! Gotta remember to proof-read. Check on ebay, they have scads of them of all kinds. But the basic one is only around 20.00 new I think, or if you join Gevalia's coffee of the month thing, they used to give then free. Buying one is cheaper, though.

My hubby bought me a Gevalia membership for Christmas. Gevalia had a promo where they send you a really great coffee maker ($100. type). Pleasantly surprised with the coffee and coffee maker quality so the only thing missing is a great grinder. It's a pain having to work around those little blades in the grinder....

If you are looking for a simple blade grinder for drip coffee, check out Braun Aromatic coffee grinder. Never had issues with our, and the cord stows away for easy storage.

Mine's a simple, no frills Grindmaster Cafe Mill. I think I shelled out a 20 for it. It's easy to clean, which I like.

I've had a Melitta grinder for many years. If you can find it, i highly recommend it. Mine was only slightly more expensive than the cheapo grinders and significantly less expensive than similar grinders from Krups/KitchenAid/Cuisinart.
