Default snow ice cream

We haven't had enough snow for it, but my kids loved it 15 years ago when we were in the mountains and I loved it as a kid. Just snow, milk, sugar, and flavoring (vanilla, malted milk powder, nestles quik, rum, maple, etc).

With so many snowed in, just curious if anyone has been trying it............

I thought of snow ice cream just a few days ago, when we had the first blizzard here in Philly. As I was picking up shovelsful of light, fluffy snow I thought about the time my mother made snow ice cream for us, it must have been about 1955 and I was 5. We loved it, I think she just used sugar, a little milk and vanilla.

Yum. We used to use evaporated milk (Carnation or Pet), sugar and vanilla. I bet some of the other stuff is good, too.

We had the most perfect snow but I've never thought of doing it. My dogs however thought that shovels with snow on the top was the most amazing thing they've ever had. Apparently no toppings needed on snow ice cream. =)
