Even with the tip you're still getting by pretty good. I'd have to leave a tip, no matter how much I need to save money. Wait people have difficult jobs and it's hard on your feet.
Hubby ate there this morning. Coffee is not included. But he did leave them a tip as if he were paying for the whole breakfast. (Awww.. Natalay.. .. that's not right. )
Thanks DontH8M for the link!
The Denny's that I went to here in the Centennial Hills area of Las Vegas was packed, but the line was moving fast. I put my name on the list, and was seated within 15 minutes. The young guy next to me at the counter doesn't like eggs, so he gave me his. I managed to scrape up 85 cents, so while I didn't give her that great of a tip, I didn't stiff her.
I went today with my mom and my son. We got in line about 10:45 and left shortly after 12. The service was great, better than it is normally and the food was nice and hot - sad thing is not many people were leaving tips.
I was wondering about tips. Most meals there are under $10, so the servers dont often make more than $1 per person, and they make less than minimum wage. I would have gone, but there is not a Dennys in my town.
I've got ramen. Without gas or power all I've got is peanutbutter sandwiches and cold ramen. I soak it in cold water for an hour, and then sprinkle the flavor packet and garlic powder on it. I drink pretty much plain old tap water these days.

Very bad manners and poor taste for the people who did not tip. Just because a meal is free does not mean a green light to stiff the server. I would have left 15-20% of what the meal "would" have cost.
My folks tried each of the three Denny's in our area - each was mobbed. I think the regular price of the Grand Slam breakfast is $3.99. They decided to forget about it and just went home to eat instead of waiting in a line that wrapped around the block.
The lines were super long in the Orlando area as well. We made a few print outs to give to the panhandler regulars who are always on the corner of our building. I don't know anyone personally who actually did the 'wait in line' thing.
at the Denney's in Abq. on San Antonio Av..long lines at 8 am...jest left and saved my appetite for Sushi at Lunch...
Glad I did....
