Haven't you ever seen Chocolat, starring Johnny Depp and Juliette Binoche? The Mayans apparently used it for different things. I requested a recipe here for it the other day--a 2000 year old recipe. LOL

ya, chocolate has been used in america for years. but its appearance in the southwest is big news because it shows a link between the various cultures of america. mayan, aztec, choco, or whatever.

except that the chocolate wasnt sweet.

especially exciting news for anthropologist who love chocolate!
