I don't know if anyone mentioned this since I didn't read all the responses, but I bought 3 boxes of Girl Scout cookies this year and they were definately smaller. Very disappointing. At $3.50 a box, it's a rip off. Not that I mind supporting Girl Scouts, but still. That is a lot of money for a few cookies!

Default Smaller packages

Well this happened some time ago, but the womens sanitary napkins have less and they have definitely made them smaller.
Also the so called fun packs of candy bars like Hersheys and Almond Joys, even Snickers are only eight pieces now and even the pieces are smaller.
I no longer buy them anyway as Hersheys makes their stuff in Mexice. I have not bought a Hershey product in a year and will not again.

Yes, beer does come in 12-packs, depending on manufacturer. [Most do.] I've seen them put out anywhere from 18- to 24-can packs, for some reason. "You know, I wanted more than a 12-, but I just didn't want to buy an entire case...so I got the 20-can size."

There was an interesting segment about this on CBS' Sunday Morning program:

The aluminum cans for pop are getting thinner. and yes, the shrinking of products is very irritating. But I have noticed, that the discount store chain I shop at, this is not as noticeable. And I also shop a lot in the ethnic food aisles, this seems to be less "shrinkage" in those products as well.

It is only the national brand names that have to pay for the packaging and the advertising budgets.

This only causes me to want to make more homemade stuff (if I had lots of time I would do it more!). Their strategies will backfire into less sales at some point.

Boycott all grocery chains participating in the fleecing of the American public with smaller product size and higher prices.
This is a war against wrong.
Start petitions and email the results to major grocery chains in America letting them know that we will not buy their smaller products with higher prices and smaller product content.
If enough Patriot Americans do this, We can make a difference.
Tell all your friends to get involved. You and I matter and we deserve better than this fleecing of the American Public by grocery chains and their product suppliers. Let the voice of the consumers be heard loud and clear. We won't take this injustice anymore. Fight the evil wrongdoers.!!!!!!!
