Food dishes with odd names
I made Bubble & Squeak the other day and my hubby looked at me and started laughing! I suppose I could've made Bangers & Mash, Toad in the Hole or Spotted Dick.
Any other dishes out there with odd names?

Toad in the hole is sausage covered in a kind of batter, bangers and mash are sausages with mashed potatoes, and spotted dick is a kind of pudding/dessert. My husband is British and I know about them, though he's a vegetarian. I don't think spotted dick is eaten much now..sort of a turn of the century dish from Victorian/Edwardian times.

Bubble and Squeak is left over mashed potatoes and cabbage mixed together to form a small cake which you lightly fry in a skillet. It gets its name from the bubbling and the squeaking the cabbage makes in the pan.

Spotted Dick is still around. You can make it from scratch but I prefer it out of the can.
