It is a Creamland brand, we can still get it in New Mexico, but my daughter and friend cannot find it in the Phoenix area. Stores there have quit handling it, been looking for a recipe for them but have not been able to find one like it. The recipe on the web site are not exactly like it. If anyone has one I would appreciate it if you would share it.
I grew up in Albuquerque's North Valley (las Candelarias) and Old Towne, and know this prduct very well! - been gone from there for 30 years. (Jeder Hund hat seinen Tag!)
Stir all this together ... now here's the hard part .... green chili...
If you live in NM, finding green chili is not a problem. The next best thing is green chili powder from NM; available on the web. Also, this all tastes better the day AFTER you stir it up (spices are better disolved) - and serve with Sangria!
Try 1 Tbs green chili powder, then check for taste; add more till you get it to the taste you're looking for.
After reading this thread and realizing I couldn't buy Price's or Creamland's green chile dip (I live in PA), I made my own, using canned green chiles, sour cream, diced red pepper, diced garlic, fresh corn, S&P. It was pretty good, but I ended up eating too many chips.
I went and looked up Creamland and they said that they realize that people all over the country would like their products but can't get them. They put their dip recipes on their website. Here is a link to them:
I was thinking the same thing. Inquiring minds want to know.
It is sorta a mixture between the two. I do like green chilis and usually get some to roast and freeze when we have them here in AR around the first week or so of Aug. They, of course come from NM. As for the dip, well I am just not a lover of it that much. I can live with tomatillo sauce which is easy to make and can be made with other chilis.
