Jax-you paint NY/NJ folks with a wide brush-as a native NY'er and having many, many friends and family still there I find it's a misnomer about people from that area. For the most part they are caring and very helpful. I think DD would be fine.
You are correct I apologize I did make a pretty wide sweep by not narrowing it down. Yes I have met wonderful NY/NJ and Philly city folks also.
BBQ here too. The menu is steaks, chicken, baked potatoes, grilled veggies, corn salad, fresh sourdough bread and Heath Bar cake. And I'm hiding part of the chicken, veggies and corn salad for lunch tomorrow. LOL I haven't tried this recipe, but I'll post it in case it's as good as it looks. I just bought an almost 4 lb. top sirloin steak. Taking it to daughters to have her grill it for our dinner. Mashed potatoes and sweet corn are the sides.
We get nice crusty Italian bread from a local deli and they get it from NJ. So I always have a supply frozen. I cannot bake-LOL.
Jaxson sometimes the perceptions of NY'rs is just that. People out here were leery of me when they heard where I was from and I took some initial hits but then they realized me for me. It was way worse when we were first married and went to Mr. L's hometown-I was the local attraction "the girl from NYC" but no one would talk to me-just stare at me like I was a museum display (I did lots of crying in those days).
Greetings dinner eaters! Too many pages to catch up on after a long day in the sun. Looks like people are eating well and in generally good spirits, though. More anon
Hello all, hope you are enjoying your day. Thinking of throwing some burgers on the grill, not sure what I will have with them. Right now I have my feet up and am enjoying a tall glass of ice tea with lemon!
Change of plans here...between the rain storms my DH is grilling some pork chops and I put some potatoes in the oven to bake. We'll have some brussel sprouts along with the chops. My DH can see how miserable I am--you all know that first day of the head cold--yuk! Can't breath, nose is running, eyes burn and coughing---simply wonderful. I think from all the mental stress these past few months and my arm injury my resistance is down so once I am over this I will have to work on getting my health back. I am not use to being sick or hurt so I am pretty tired of it! Ha! Getting older doesn't help but this has been a real bad start this year for sure! Looking like some more rain anytime now.........
