I dunno, to me, a potato was made as a vehicle for salt and butter. Same with corn.

A friend at work purchased a bag of chips that were featured at HEB last week....vinegar chips or something. Pretty sure they were salt free as she can have no extra salt in her diet.

The chips were good! Vinegary and very "stark" with a nice crisp and yummy aftertaste. That is of course if you like "savory".

Have you noticed that there is less sodium in one ounce of potato chips or tortilla chaps, than in one ounce of Corn Flakes? Chips are not really that high in salt, but the salt is granular on the surface, so it gives a more satisfying salty mouth feel.

Also, those big round Tostadas, that come stacked up in cylindrical packs in the tortilla section, don't taste very salty, but contain about twice as much sodium as the "salty" bags of tortilla chips.

If you can resist munching through a whole bag, potato chips and tortilla chips are actually fairly low-salt foods.

That sounds good! I sometimes sprinkle plain chips with malt vinegar for flavor

Just plain old generic potato chips have less sodium per ounce than Kelloggs Corn Flakes.
