I like sausage, but I despised hot dogs.

I don't like them.
Even as a kid, the only way I'd go near one is if it was charred and blackened on a grill. And even then, I could only stand to eat a bite or two.
As an adult, no. I avoid them like the plague.

I think its gross. I dunno, maybe its because I dont live in the Northeastern US , but I dont understand people's love of hot dogs.

Now a juicy hamburger or some good BBQ or fried chicken- then you're talking !
Portability, I can walk down the street and eat a half dozen of them, if I eschew the bun and toppings.

I eat a hot dog maybe a couple of times a year. I only like them off of the grill. My kids were never crazy about them either.

You said it- charcoal grilled dog with slaw, relish, ketchup, mustard. yum

Or chili dogs...

I've only had a true Chicago dog a couple of times, but double yum. Weird, but double yum.

And then there is the krautdog....

then sausage dogs, brats........so many dogs, so little time!

I'm hungry!

I use to eat store bought hotdogs. Then about 30 years ago some one gave me some home made Caribou hotdogs. Since then I have never had the desire to eat a store bought dog. However, do not ever get between me and a caribou hotdog. You will not know hit you.

I like hot dogs! My mom would eat them out of the fridge, but my kids never could stand them. Best ones are the dawgs you get at the University of Alabama's Bryant-Denny Stadium, especially if you're starving! Barely warm, with a little kraut and the mysterious "mutchup" or "kustard" sauce.

But I have lately explored different kinds of "hot dogs," such as Italian sausage and different kinds of sausages. So far, I've liked them all.

Grilling over a charcoal fire is the tastiest!
