HG you hit a nerve here-my wedding was my mother's-she picked my gown, the reception, band and I was allowed 10 friends-rest were all her's. We were very tempted to leave her "holding the bag" but I never would've done that to my Dad.

Our son and wife did their entire wedding on their own and did it elegantly and paid for it themselves.

Besides helping my daughter-I also wrote the checks but it was all her planning-I went for the ride.

This is your special day and you have to do what you think is right.

Thanks for the advice friends!! We want this to be "our day", ya know?? The budget is one issue...my parents are not really telling me what they'll help with (I'd like to know a set amount to help with planning) which makes it hard. We are also contibuting and his parents will pay for the rehearsal dinner and booze at the reception.

Which speaking of....we can't find a place to hold the reception at on Saturday July 17th so we may have to switch to Sunday which isn't idea for out of town guests. Sigh. We will figure it out.

Default Public Svc Announcement from Kelsie!

Friends our Kelsie just called and she's so upset-her laptop crashed and this while she's writing her 2nd cookbook. A friend has said they would try and help get her back and working later tonight.

She wants everyone to know-as she hates being apart from us-LOL.
