Careful now I have a stock pot of chili about done....Now do I have the wife fix a quick pot of rice to put it on, fix a grilled cheese, or both? Cheese is already slice so it doesn't need to be cut.

Kats, Kats, Kats.......
I have chicken baking the oven that was brined and then oven fried with a coating of cereal, panko and walnuts. There was beautiful spinach at the market so I will sauté it. A co-worker of my DP gave us home grown white corn. I will steam it and slather it with buttah

In a weak moment I ordered a new cookbook (Like I don't have a hundred already that I never use) "Gooseberry Patch... something or other", but it seems to be a little overly simplistic for an experienced cook. I'll probably pass it on to a DIL. Neither DIL really cooks much, so this is just their speed.
Anyway, I made their Mexican Lasagna tonight, which looks really good, but the can of mild enchilada sauce I bought for it sure tastes super-hot to me, so I hope DH and I can eat it. News at 11:00.

Dinner tonight was a fridge clean out, a little gazpacho, some cherries, blueberries, slice of watermelon, and a few cantaloupe chunks.
With all that healthy stuff outta the way I think I'm gonna be due for a nice salami, pepperoni, cheese platter sometime soon

What's for dinner??? I had a salad awhile ago, here at the hospital while my DH is still asleep from his surgery. Surprisingly, very good, Had planned for some stir fry for one day this week but his hospital stay put those plans aside for now. Maybe next week.

Tonight will be a chicken, rice and bean dish. Something easy to make and heat up, since I work tomorrow morning so hubby will have to reheat his dinner when he gets home later tonight
