No cooking here tonight. This is Pizza night. Wife's night off in the kitchen. She still is needing to ice her knee down after a day on the job...Probably keep it simple tonight with just ham and pineapple. That is our any season comfort food.

The chili is in the crockpot bubbling away and a loaf of bread is rising for a wonderful dinner of chili and fresh buttered bread.

Hey all!
Dinner tonight is sausage, peppers and onions. No bread though, DH wants to start his big diet before our vacation. We'll see how long that will last, since we have quite a few weeks yet.

Have a great day!

Good Late Afternoon Foodie Friends!

Thank you all for the extended birthday greetings & the warm welcome back, it is always nice to have a seat at the table.

George, was a nice dinner tribute to me last night, I certainly hope it was delicious.

A special thank you to Crazy World for allowing me to purchase her 4 generation cookbook, CW it is wonderful, I am having the best time going over all of your family's wonderful recipes. We certainly have some great talent on this forum.

Well dh came home for lunch & caught what one of the granbabies had last week, raging headache, low fever, chills, eyes hurting & just miserable, so it is going to be an uncomplicated meal for supper tonight when he gets home. I have a 1/2 roaster chicken in brine right now. I will roast this in white wine & c. broth, lots of fresh herbs under the skin, basting the last 15 mins. in h/m sweet, whole cranberry chutney. Whipped mashed potatoes, & honey glazed Organic carrots. Fresh h/m chicken soup & we will call it dinner.

I hope everyone has a lovely evening, I will check back later. kelsie

Sounds good! I can't wait for the weather to cool enough so we "feel" like eating chili! (It has been cooler on some days than I would have thought though, so maybe not too long and we can have chili!)

Hi all!

Never did get dinner last night, so I just put some tortilla chips on a plate, melted some cheese, added salsa and called it dinner.

This morning I got up and popped a roast and potatos in the crockpot. Added onions, mushroom soup and some seasonings. May add a nice crisp salad and some bread and it's good to go!

Have a great day!!!

Since we are back to these cool temps I will be making goulash tonight for supper I believe. Let ya know if that changes.
