Well last night I decided on oven fried chicken, cornbread and blackeyed peas. We ate while watching Inkheart (a free redbox rental yeah!)

Tonight I'm thinking steaks and mashed potatoes with broccoli and cauliflower....

Tonight we are having stuffed bell peppers, mashed potatoes and of course sliced tomatoes. We're out of melon and that's a first for this summer so I guess I'll have some sliced pears instead. DH is trying to catch up on mowing the lawn and we've been slammed with rain--5 inches night before last and 9 inches last night so we haven't gone anywere much. I'm telling you I have never seen rain and lightening and thunder like it has been here the last two days and it looks like we're in for more for the next few days!! Oh my!! I think I am growing gills!!!!
We have taken friends 3 flats with 18 huge tomatoes in each flat the last 3 days and I still have a good dozen left on my counter with more on my bushes. I think they like the rain!!

I'm making a mini-shrimp boil with red-potatoes, corn on the cob and large shrimp, peeled and deveined.

We are having a big tossed salad with cuke and tomato (miso dressing) and deli sliced turkey and cheese and artisan bread on the side! Today was the first hot muggy day we've had all summer.

I'm back and we didn't go out for dinner because we were having some very severe thunderstorms, and still are. I couldn't believe the rain we had!! Sheets and sheets coming down and the lightning was fierce. A tornado touched down in Northwest NJ.
So, thank goodness I made that bread. We had turkey and swiss sandwiches w/ chips.

Have a good evening.

good evening! Was planning to make pizza tonight but DW had other ideas! Defrosted chicken breasts. So I made side salads,BBQ chicken breasts, potato salad, peas and red bell peppers, deviled eggs, homemade bread. Either leftover pecan pie or fresh peach pie for dessert!

Did manage to take first place playing bridge at center today!
