How in the heck does E-coli bacteria get into cookie dough ? I would expect salmonella from the raw eggs but E-coli ??? Must be from fecal material on the the egg shells.

Why on earth would you eat raw cookie dough??? Aren't you supposed to bake it first?

Some folks like to live dangerously, look at all the bungee jumpers and skydivers !
My step dad used to eat raw eggs and he would pile raw hamburger on a cracker, top it with a pile of salt then pop it into his mouth. Food can be dirty and it's best not to do these types of things if you care about your health. Folks get mild food poisoning all the time and don't even know it. They just say "my tummy doesn't feel very good" then go on about their day.
Cook your eggs all the way as well as ground beef, chicken and pork and you will decrease your chances of getting sick. Vegetables eaten raw can make you sick also, especially if they are irrigated with sewage water and our veggies during the winter are grown in many places where this is practiced.
Cook cook cook your food or you may get sick sick sick !

Oh, I see from another thread it's apparently a snack food. I've never heard of pre-made cookie dough let alone considered eating it raw!!

Some packaged cookie dough may not be dangerous to eat raw. If powdered eggs are used instead of fresh eggs then you most likely won't get sick.

Apparently about 200 people could lose their jobs over this.

That is just shocking! Thankfully it didn't happen a few years ago when I bought the stuff on a regular basis and my kids ate the raw dough like candy.
