Help me find a fruity tasting semi-sweet wine. Not Manishewitz!
Maybe I am just not a wine fan but I keep trying. Just about every wine I try is too acidic or bitter tasting to me. I want something sweeter, but not too sweet. I don't want Manishewitz , it's too sweet, but I do want something sweeter than the standard wines you can get at the store. I don't care if it is red or white wine.
Is there anything in between anyone can recommend?

I've a hankering for sweeter wines also, red or white no difference either - just as long as its on sweeter side. As don't know what area you live in for sure [Pacific NW?], and that varieties can be different in varied regions, one option would be to ask of some associates at your local wine stores - sometimes local papers review wines that can be helpful. I've found some great [and not so good ] bottles in that manner. Most of the wine that I buy are 'local' wines - from the area I live in: MO, IN, IL, MI, WI, MN, KY, TN, SC... so don't know how helpful I can be telling you that such and such wine from this and that winery would fit your desires. One item that (normally) can't go wrong with is one of my favorites: Mead - wine made from honey [but may be too sweet to you?]. Good luck.

Moscato or crouchen riesling if you're wanting white.
Lambrussco or dolce & sirra if you're wanting red.

There is nothing that I can recommend except make your own!! I'm sure you can find a recipe online and homemade is delicious... sweet but not too sweet, bitter but not too bitter!

How about white zinfandel. Glen Ellen makes a good one-Aromas of ripe strawberries, raspberries and the perfect touch of sweetness. If you taste on a warm summer's day you can detect a hint of fresh watermelon

Try a Niagara (white) or Catawba (blush), commonly grown in Pennsylvania and New York. Sweet and grapey.
Riesling is considered semi-sweet.

Yes, Glen Ellen White Zin - very good. It's good with or without a meal. I also like a Riesling but I like it with a meal.

A lot of universities have adult education classes. I have talked to several people that have taken wine making classes. You might consider that route. Also if you live anywhere near a vinyard stop in for a tour.
