I peel them for regular mashed potatoes, otherwise, no.

I used to peel them for mashed, but now I don't even do that. I use the yellow fleshed potatoes for mashing and the skin stays on, for the most part. So my mashed potatoes have evolved from a creamy consistency to a more rough/chunky peely substance with lots of black pepper and chives. MMMM. Sometimes I think I could live on potatoes.

I peel them for mashed potatoes and potato casserole and when I use them in stews. And some boiled potatoes I peel after cooking if they are the kind that have not so nice tasting skins.

I peel them when I'm making standard mashed potatoes, but for most everything else, like homefries, boiled, roasted etc. I scrub 'em really well and use them with the skins.

When I make potato salad I boil them with the skins and peel them after....different, better flavor somehow.

I stopped years ago. Just wash them really well. Much of the nutrients are in the skins.

We only eat mashed, scalloped, or french fries - none of us like baked with the skin on. So I always peel them.

No, I make my husband do it.

I always heard the nutrients were in the skin. Potatoes are peeled for mashed or home fries, unpeeled for baked.

Gue... there's no pesticides applied to the potatoes... they grow under the ground...

The vitamins and nutrients are mostly in the skin... nothin' like the yummy skin of a baked potato slathered with butter, salt and pepper... sometimes sour cream added too... omg... now I want some for dinner!
Even better if you give them a good coating of olive oil and sea salt before baking them.

That's the last time I would peel a potato! All the flavor is in the peel!
