I love hanging out in the kitchen! Hi everyone!

Just a short visit now!~I'll be back & forth from our tent at the beach next week so I won't be able to stop in much but it sure smells good in here!

Dibs on grandma's rocker by the wood burning stove!

I make the best dip (easy and no frills) using cream cheese, chili WITH beans, and shredded cheese - all in the micro! Have been asked for the recipe many times.

Take 1 reg cream cheese block (softened). Spread in a pie plate. Open can of Hormel's chili w/ Beans and spread evenly over cream cheese. Sprinkle LIBERALLY with shredded sharp cheddar. Microwave until cheese is melted. Serve with crackers or corn chips.

Makes about 24

1 huge cabbage ($1.49 this week)
Cut out core and place in a big simmering pot of water. Remove each leaf as they become plyable. Cool. Remove tough rib from each leaf.
Combine:
2# ground beef
1 T celery salt
pepper
2 eggs
1 cup cooked rice
1/2 c. ketchup

Sauce: Mix well
1 large can tomato sauce (28oz)
1 bottle chili sauce
1 jar grape jelly, melted

1 large onion, chopped

Place chopped onion in the bottom of a large roasting pan (bigger than a 13x9).
Roll up meat mixture in cabbage leaves and line up on top of onions.
Pour sauce over and cover with foil.
Bake for 2 hours at 325. Uncover, baste occasionally for another hour.

We serve it with mashed potatoes.
YUM! Thanks for the recipe!

We had to use serving bowls for the banana splits. Added some fresh GA peaches to them.

Morning all - late start for me today.

Gue - have a terrific time!

Kats - I saw that and, as always, am willing to trade - for food.

No drinkies for me last night afterall <sigh> By the time I got in there the feeling had passed. Oh well, maybe next weekend - with snackies!

Just water for me so far today. Will let you know when something more exciting comes along

Coffee has kicked in, I think.

Last night's chicken will be chicken salad for lunch with red grapes, celery, low fat mayo.

Planning oven bar-b-cued baby back ribs, black beans and rice, salad.

Our first day at the kitchen was so enjoyable and I hope we continue to enjoy and share.

I'd enjoy it if you'd share that chicken salad - love chicken salad with red grapes. So good!

I'll probably finish the rice and beans early today - will have pineapple chunks leftover for snacking.
