These premises like the one put forth in the link are so ridiculous. The states I've lived in - Pennsylvania and Ohio - have too many regional differences to be known for one food or another. What is common in one corner of the state is unheard of in another.

Currently living in Wisconsin too...so I would say cheese also, although I love fresh cheese curds even more. Recipe: Go to the store and buy some.
We used to stop at a cheese place right on the state line when driving to Wisconsin from Illinois. I think it might have been called Cheese Castle? They had amazing fresh cheese curds. We stopped every time to buy cheese curds to take home.
