Avocados, tomato, diced (finely) red onion, garlic powder, salt & pepper, lime juice, cilantro, ancho chile powder, and I always put sliced green onion on the top when I serve it. Whenever we order guac at a restaurant I have to add some salt and pepper to it so it has some flavor.

We haven't had Haas avocados all summer the brands we do get don't have a lot of flavor.

I do mine like Debsi she shared her way a long time ago in the old dinner thread.

A restaurant I go to as well also offers a guac taco. VERY good!

I made it for the first time last night for regular Friday night house guests. Mine was very simple, 3 avocados, 1 roma tomato, handful of cilantro, diced jalapenos, green onions and salt and pepper. Tell me what other ingredients you use. Some recommended regular onions but I prefer the flavor and the color for this purpose of green onions...I got rave reviews...it was so good.
I love guac. I make mine this way:

3-4 Haas avo's
1/2 white onion
3-4 serrano peppers finely diced
diced tomato (sometimes a small handful of grape tom's cut or one roma)
pinch of salt
My husband would scream if I used cilantro. He is one of those that hates it. I like a little but it can be very strong.

Love guac and avacados!

I like my guac chunky. Usually I just mix in some chopped onions, pressed garlic, & salt.

Please, don't put sour cream in my guac!!

Lazy person's guacamole here ...a jar of my favorite garlic-y salsa plus as many avocados as I have. Chunk it all together with a potato masher.

All the hot, garlicy, cilantro-y combinations might be very good, but I like guacamole the best when nothing overpowers the delicate taste of the avocado.
Mine just has 2 mashed avocados, juice of 1/2 lime, salt & pepper, 1/4 t. chili powder and about a Tbls of mayo. Sometimes, I put in a teeny amount of grated onion, but usually not.

Avocados on the half shell mashed and replaced in half skin with Real bacon bits ...yummy!!
I know, right? The tricky part is knowing about 4 days ahead of time that you're going to have a hankering for guacamole.
