This reminds me of my former mudder-in-law. LOL...couldn't be happier that she a "former." I swear, she actually said paper napkins were declasse. She wouldn't eat in restaurants where paper napkins were used. PITA~~~ Poor 20yrs....

Eating at home, I never drink anything with or after a meal. When dining out, I usually drink my water while waiting for my meal to be served, and probably take a few sips while eating, as well.

Milk will lower the pH. It's more of a base than a acid.

Here, a lot of restaurants will not automatically bring water to the table unless you ASK for it specifically, and I support that. Any water brought to me would just be wasted, would have to be poured out, and the glass "washed"--even though I didn't touch it. It would just be wasting water, and we've been under drought conditions for years.

I'm a weirdo. I drink AFTER I eat, and I only eat one thing at a time - I don't mix the food on my plate. For example, I will eat the meat first, then move onto veggie #1, then veggie #2. After I've finished my meal, I will sip my drink.

I'm one of those people who eats everything separately and in stages. First all the meat, then all of one vegetable, then all of the other vegetable, for example. After that I'll have the drink and concentrate on that. Then the dessert after that. I don't know why, but I don't mix things!

It depends on the meal.
Breakfast I have coffee before.
Lunch I have juice after.
Dinner I often have wine during, and I always have water then too.
