Thanks everyone...

I am going to try to roast some wings today (wed) and make a stock.
Then I can finish the gravy Thur.

I'll get the Knorr as a back up in case I burn something or for extra
later with leftovers.

I read one professional blog about how he makes the stock ahead and the
roux ahead and just combines at the last minute..

My gravies used to go terribly wrong but the last few years they keep getting better ....

The grocery store had neither today but I found some frozen wings.
I have already roasted them and I an going to do the broth/stock
tonight...

I love the 2 straight days of cooking with the family home...

I always cook enough for 30 and we only have 6 eating tomorrow...

Today (11/25) at Trader Joe's we bought turkey gravey in little containers: $1.49 each. We got 4.

They do make powdered gravy mix?--I didn't know that. Chicken is similar though. Mushroom isn't bad either.

I think I have a packet of mushroom gravy mix still, used the country gravy on my biscuits.

Had a heck of a time finding any necks at three different grocery stores. Finally did find them though, at a butcher's shop that specialized in meat (okay, I know, that's a big "duh" isn't it?) instead of a general grocery.

My Mom used to combine one beef and one chicken powdered gravy mix with the meat drippings to make plenty of "turkey" gravy. It's just right

I would love to know where to buy "real" turkey gravy .
A place that makes it fresh from turkey stock.

I don't mind buying things if they do it better than I do.

The turkey gravy from Trader Joe's was great. 17.6 oz for $1.49. Used for 3 dinner plates. 3 other boxes on hand for future. As far as I know, it's real gravy but in a tiny milk carton type container.
