Oh, dear you must be from the midwest, or someplace like that -- I'm from Buffalo, originally, and that was Buffalo food when I was growing up. YUCK! Glad I developed better taste!

And my mother liked pickled herring.....smelly!!

Ha! Actually, I'm from West Virginia!
My dad had this thing about meat in a can, I think. So, our cupboards seemed to be stocked with it...LOL!
Boy, them fried Spam sandwiches (who thought fried bologna could have a generic alternative version???!) sure do bring back memories, opposite of the saurkraut and weiners, of course....
Hey, I live in Rochester right now.....Buffalo, famous for the chicken wings.....there's another stinky! But goodie!

Kimchi...good stuff (and even addictive) but smells strongly...often bad to many who aren't used to it or don't know what it is.

My father once said that it smells like garbage. I picked up some Korean food and got into the car with him one time, years ago, and he wrinkled up his nose and said that I shouldn't eat at that place and that the food smells like it is spoiled. I told him that it was kimchi and he replied, "I don't care what it is, it smells like garbage!"

LMAO!!

There's this very savory Filipino fish sauce called patis (pronounced pah-TEES) that stinks, but actually tastes quite good, especially on fried fish.

Just for you, LuLu108

Spam 'n cheese on toast

Spam 'n eggs

Spam 'n crackers

Gimme a Spam with mustard - sweet beautiful mustard

Shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen...

What smells bad? Homemade chili sauce, while being prepared. Have to leave the house. Actually interferes with my breathing. But is oh, so, tasty.
